About this circuit

The Hungaroring is in Mogyoród, in Pest county (Hungary), 19 km from the centre of Budapest: 4.381 km, 14 corners, clockwise. A technical, twisty layout with few straights; the main one measures 790 m. You overtake on both sides, across the full width. The corners bear drivers' names: Piquet at turn 1, then Hamilton, Mansell, Alesi, Schumacher, Senna at 13 and Szisz at 14. The track went from 4,014 m in 1986 to 4,381 m in 2003; complete resurfacing in 2016. An experienced rider laps in between 2'11" and 2'23", an expert rider between 2'02" and 2'11". Access via the M3 motorway from Budapest, exit 20, then signposted through Mogyoród; the Volánbusz 321 express bus serves the HUNGARORING stop. During the operator's motorcycle open days, garage boxes can be hired on site: registration at the container near box 6, transponders at box 1, scrutineering in a marked-out area of the paddock. These open days are suspended until further notice, for the duration of the redevelopment works under way since 2022. Noise limit: 102 dB according to the circuit regulations, which refer to decree 6/1990 KöHÉM; measured at scrutineering before entering the track, then continuously during the programme. Requirements: licence for the category or racing licence, signed waiver, motorcycle in perfect condition, full-face helmet, boots, gloves and full leather suit (cordura refused), no pillion, camera mounted on the motorcycle only, transponder mandatory, 20 min sessions with 15 motorcycles at most. Lights, indicators and mirrors taped over, drain plugs and oil filter lock-wired, rear footpegs fixed; 60 km/h in the pit lane. The price and the noise limit applied are shown on each track day's page.
