Guides to nail your motorcycle trackday
Everything to know before, during and after your track session: budget, gear, insurance, levels.
Riding on track — where to start?
A motorcycle trackday is a day when a circuit is opened for you to ride freely, without speed cameras, without traffic, in full safety. No competition, no official timing: just enjoyment and progress.
Before your first day, three things to prepare: gear (mandatory leather suit, back protector, boots, gloves), budget (between €150 and €450 for the spot, plus options) and insurance (your road policy doesn't cover circuit riding).
Our guides answer all your practical questions. Start with the one that matches your stage right now.

Which guide should I start with if I've never ridden on track?
The « Starting motorcycle trackdays » guide is built for that: it covers minimum age, levels, how to sign up, which bike to choose. Then move to the gear checklist and the budget guide to prepare your first day with peace of mind.
Do I need special insurance to ride on a circuit?
Yes. Your motorcycle road insurance systematically excludes track damage. Without track insurance, if you crash and damage your bike, the bill stays with you (€2,000 to €8,000 on average for a recent sportbike). Our insurance guide compares the available policies.
What budget for a first track day?
Plan €150 to €300 for the spot depending on circuit and season, plus €40 to €80 of fuel, and possibly €40 to €150 for gear rental if you don't own any yet. Full breakdown in our budget guide.
