About this circuit
Papenburg, in Lower Saxony, is not a public circuit: ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg is a 780 ha manufacturers' test centre, whose 2.6 km Handlingkurs track, a replica of the short Hockenheimring, hosts the motorcycle track sessions. It is 10 m wide and is run clockwise. An experienced rider laps between 1'21" and 1'29", an expert between 1'15" and 1'21". ATP does not organise the motorcycle track sessions itself: the centre's partners take care of them. You hire a workshop with a workbench, lift, compressed air, electricity and shower; a petrol station and cafeteria are within the grounds. The site imposes a confidentiality agreement, prohibits photos, videos and phones, refuses under-16s and animals, and requires a road-approved helmet and suitable motorcycle clothing. No noise limit is published. The price and the noise limit applied are shown on each track day's page.
