About this circuit
The Bilster Berg, in Bad Driburg, in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), offers 4.2 km and 19 corners, 10 left-handers and 9 right-handers, on a track 10 to 12 m wide. The layout splits into a 1.8 km Westschleife and a 2.4 km Ostschleife. The corners have names: Kugelkopf, Jägerbuche, Hermannsschneise, Mausefalle, Steilwand. The longest straight, the Pömbser Höhe, measures 800 m. The terrain makes the circuit: 70 m of elevation change, 44 crests and dips, a 26% descent in the Mausefalle, followed by a 180° corner and the Steilwand with a 21% climb. An experienced rider laps in between 2'06" and 2'17", an expert rider between 1'56" and 2'06". For motorcycle days, an emergency doctor is mandatory on site, in addition to the ambulance and its crew. The site is private and closed to the public: you only enter when registered for the event. Two paddocks, each with its own pit lane, 8,000 m² at the top and 6,000 m² at the bottom, offer garage box halls with three-phase power sockets and water. Staying overnight on site is forbidden, except by special arrangement with paid security. An automatic fuel station in the upper paddock dispenses petrol by bank card. The TURN ONE restaurant opens during events; catering can be delivered to the garage boxes. Showers and tyre service on site. There is no motorcycle dB limit at the exhaust: the operating permit caps the sound power at 138 dB(A) per vehicle on drive-by, DMSB method, with each event assessed beforehand and a transponder on every motorcycle. Full kit required: leather suit, motorcycle boots, back protector, full-face helmet and gloves with protectors. Minimum age 18, driving licence or DMSB licence. The price and the noise limit applied are shown on each track day's page.
