About this circuit
The Autodromo dell'Umbria is located in Magione, next to Perugia, in Umbria (Italy): a 2.507 km track, 11 m wide, ridden clockwise. A single configuration. The original 1973 layout measured 1,650 m; it was extended to 2,507 m in 1996, and the operator describes it as twisty, with very technical riding. Each section has its name: Curva Merzario after the start line, Curva vecchi box, Tornantino, Curva muro followed by the wall straight, Curvone, Curva monte Sperello, Curva Zampini and the Esse. Track, pit lane and paddock were partly resurfaced in 2017. An experienced rider laps in 1'17" to 1'25", an expert rider in 1'11" to 1'17". The paddock, enlarged in 1996, has 18 garage boxes. A bar is among the circuit's services, along with a medical centre, a first-aid room and a helipad. The sound check for free practice sessions is set at 100 dB for motorcycles (98 dB for cars), according to the circuit's regulations, with no published rpm or measuring distance; a dB killer or standard exhaust is compulsory, and exceeding the limit means exclusion. The dress code is strict: full-face helmet, one-piece leather suit, back protector, gloves and boots with protection, and a compulsory airbag. You need a current FMI speed licence or the driving licence for the motorcycle's category (on an A2, present the registration document); riders from 14 to 18 years old provide specific documents to be requested from the autodrome. Cameras are banned on track, the first 2 laps are at reduced speed, and wheelies are forbidden. The price and the noise limit applied are shown on each track day's page.
