About this circuit
The Sachsenring is at Hohenstein-Ernstthal, in Saxony (Germany): 3.671 km of track, 12 to 20 m wide, with a 780 m start/finish straight. The relief makes the circuit: maximum gradient of 12.8%. The lap opens with the auto motor und sport-Kurve, a downhill right-hand hairpin, then the Omega-Kurve with its 3% of inward camber. The Nordkurve is very fast and blind, the Ralf-Waldmann-Kurve, steeply downhill, is the fastest on the layout, and the Sachsenkurve drops at 13% before the Queckenberg-Kurve climbs back towards the straight. The site is first and foremost a road safety centre. An experienced rider laps in 1'52" to 2'02", an expert rider in 1'43" to 1'52". The operator's motorcycle training sessions accept slicks and wet tyres, with no registration required. Access via the A4, Lichtenstein or Hohenstein-Ernstthal exit then B180, or via the A72, Stollberg West exit. For motorcycle training sessions, you enter through Fahrerlager 1. Two paddocks, 34 garage boxes of 6 m by 12 m, 250 m pit lane. No fuel pump inside the grounds: the ARAL station is right opposite the entrance gate. The Restaurant and Café Beierleins, around 90 seats, serves breakfast and lunch, not included in the training sessions. No dB value: the authority requires a standard exhaust, original airbox and air filter for motorcycle training sessions; a sports silencer, even homologated, is refused, and the circuit lends baffles to models that are too loud. Noise check at Box 28, black flag on the first exceedance, exclusion on the second. Valid motorcycle licence, full leather or textile clothing with protection and leather boots, race numbers provided, a single companion who does not ride. Via the A72: exit Stollberg West then signposted “Sachsenring” (B180 towards Hohenstein-Ernstthal/Oberlungwitz). Chemnitz/Jahnsdorf aerodrome approx. 15 km away; Dresden airport approx. 95 km; Leipzig/Halle approx. 150 km. Train: Hohenstein-Ernstthal station (DB and Verkehrsverbund Mittelsachsen). For motorcycle trainings, access via Fahrerlager 1.

During events (EURO MOTO, DTM, GP, etc.), “Goldbachstraße” campsite right next to the track (opposite Goldbachstraße 23, 09353 Oberlungwitz), price per person including car, tent, showers, toilets, motorcycle; motorhome/caravan supplement, electrical hook-up optional; fully booked for the motorcycle GP. For motorcycle trainings: arrival via Fahrerlager 1, scrutineering the day before 18:00–20:00 at Box 28; centre opening hours: daily 8:00–16:30.
